TRIBUTE MINERALS ANNOUNCES WINTER DRILL PROGRAM FOR THE GARNET LAKE PROPERTY
Toronto - Ian A. Brodie-Brown, President & CEO of Tribute Minerals Inc. (“Tribute”) reports Tribute will begin its winter drill program on the Garnet Lake Property effective immediately with a proposed seven-hole program of approximately 3000 metres. This program will continue to test the depth extension of the Arrow zone, to the west and down plunge of drill hole 2004-03 (1.95%Zn, 1.15% Cu, 0.90 g/t Au and 16.47 g/t Ag over 9.5 metres), plus the up-plunge extension of the Arrow zone from previous hole 97-2C (19.1% Zn, 2.2% Cu, 1.6 g/t Au and 35.1 g/t Ag over 6.3 metres) and the easterly and westerly projected trends of the favorable Arrow horizon outlined from the results of the summer program (September 1, 2004 News Release).
Specifically, at least seven economically prospective drill targets have been generated from borehole geophysical surveys completed on the three holes drilled during the summer in combination with re-interpreted borehole geophysical data for 14 additional previously drilled holes. Tribute has recently re-surveyed two of these holes and confirmed the presence of an off-hole conductor, down-dip from holes GL-2004-03 and GL-2004-05, which is at least similar in size and strength to that associated with the Arrow Zone. This represents a high priority target to be tested during this program.
On the Dixie Property, a program of two holes totaling 1135 metres has been completed. The program tested the projected extension of the Dixie 19 Zone east of Tribute Drill-Hole DX-2002- 01 which had previously intersected a horizon of massive sphalerite with a reported grade of 15.92% Zn over 0.75 metres (September 22, 2004 News Release). Drill-Hole DX-2004-02, located 330 metres southeast of DX-2002-01, tested the showing along strike and at depth. It intersected, at 325 metres vertical depth, a 2.6 metre wide horizon of massive sulphide containing disseminations to narrow massive bands of sphalerite with blebs and small masses of chalcopyrite that was cut off at its bottom by an intrusive contact. The zone was found to be associated with highly altered felsic volcanic rocks and graded 6.69% Zn, 0.34% Cu and 5.01 g/t Ag over its width. The results extend the Dixie 19 Zone a further 50 metres to the east and 110 metres to depth. Drill-Hole DX-2004-01, located between DX-2002-01 and DX-2004-02,intersected a zone containing stringers and blebs of sphalerite and chalcopyrite grading 1.18% Zn, 0.81% Cu and 26 g/t Ag over 1.3 metres. Borehole geophysics have been conducted, and results are being interpreted.
This program is being conducted under the direction of consulting geologist Trevor Boyd, Ph.D., P. Geo, and a qualified person (QP) for the purposes of NI 43-101. The Company currently has 39,656,910 common shares issued and outstanding.
