TRIBUTE MINERALS INTERSECTS HIGH GRADE POLYMETALLIC MINERALIZATION, EXTENDS ARROW ZONE AND RECOMMENCES DRILLING ON THE GARNET LAKE ZONE

January 11, 2005

Tribute Minerals Inc. is pleased to report the results of the first two holes (GL-2004-08 and GL-2004-09, 658 metres) of its 3000 metre diamond drilling program on the Garnet Lake Property in the Confederation Lake Belt, Red Lake Mining Division, Ontario. These holes were targeted based on previous drilling and both down-hole and surface geophysics. The drill program recommences immediately.

The first hole (GL-2004-08) encountered the Arrow Zone approximately 50 metres up-dip and 40 metres along strike to the east from the previous hole GL-97-12 (6.9 metres at 2.63% Zn, 1.14% Cu, 0.75 g/t Au and 10.43 g/t Ag). GL-2004-08 intersected from 307.1 – 335.2 metres a zone of mixed stringer, semi-massive and massive sulphides hosted in altered felsic and cherty tuffs. Within this zone a 10.2 metre section assayed 8.50% Zn, 0.95% Cu, 1.00 g/t Au and 24.89 g/t Ag including a 5.8 metre section which assayed 13.89% Zn, 1.11% Cu, 1.13 g/t Au and 37.4 g/t Ag. The results are comparable to the highest grades achieved to date in the Arrow Zone from previous holes GL-97-2C (19.1% Zn, 2.2% Cu, 1.6 g/t Au and 35.1 g/t Ag over 6.3 metres) and GL-2004-04 (17.41% Zn, 0.68% Cu, 0.32 g/t Au and 28.00 g/t Ag over 4.25 metres).

The second hole (GL-2004-09) cut the Arrow Zone approximately 110 metres up-dip from GL-97-12 and intersected from 256.5 – 272 metres a zone of stringer and semi-massive sulphides. Reported analyses to date are 8.5 metres of 4.10% Zn, 0.42% Cu, 0.34 g/t Au, and 11.85 g/t Ag including 4.0 metres of 5.77 Zn, 0.25% Cu, 0.16% Au, and 16.61 g/t Ag.

The results are encouraging as they increase the size of the high grade Arrow Zone along strike to the east and in the up-dip directions. The previous drilling program during the summer (September 1, 2004 News Release) combined with follow up geophysics, had shown the potential for the discovery of economic mineralization to the west and at depth. Based on the results of these two programs the Arrow Zone remains open in three directions. The recommenced program intends to test targets on the property both along strike and at depth.

All core samples are sealed in secured packages and shipped by bonded courier to ALS Chemex. Standard protocols were fulfilled by ALS Chemex. Tribute will submit crushed reject and pulp samples of high grade results to a second commercial laboratory for assay and analytical checks.

This program is under the direction of consulting geologist Trevor Boyde Ph.D, P.Geo, and qualified person (QP) for the purposes of NI 43-101.

On behalf of the Board of Directors,

Ian A. Brodie-Brown, President.
