TRIBUTE ANNOUNCES MORE RESULTS FROM THE ARROW ZONE: 6.4 METRES (5 M TRUE WIDTH) 4.7% ZINC, 40.6 G/T SILVER
TBM-TSXV
Tribute Minerals is pleased to announce more significant polymetallic drill-hole intersections from its 2006 program on the Garnet Lake Property, Confederation Lake Belt, Northwestern Ontario . Drill-hole GL-2006-24 pierced the Arrow Zone 50 metres down-dip and west along strike of GL-2006-18, and intersected a zone of banded and stringer sphalerite that grades 6.4 metres of 4.7% Zn, 0.57% Cu, 40.6 g/t Ag and 0.16 g/t Au from 547.1 to 553.5 metres down-hole and includes an intercept of 4.5 metres of 6.5% Zn, 0.69% Cu, 54 g/t Ag and 0.2 g/t Au. Indium and g allium assays are still pending. This zone is hosted in a 102 metre wide down-hole package of highly altered rocks containing variable but persistent Fe, Zn and Cu sulphides.
Drill-hole GL-2006-23 pieced the favorable horizon hosting the Arrow Zone 50 metres down-dip from GL-2006-24 and intersected two mineralized sections of stringer and disseminated base metal sulphides grading 1.5 metres of 4.7% Zn, 0.4% Cu, 30 g/t Ag, 0.13 g/t Au from 587.9 – 589.4 metres down-hole and 5.7 metres of 1.45% Zn, 0.16% Cu, 21.2 g/t Ag, 0.11 g/t Au from 597.5 – 603.3 metres down-hole.
This winter's drill results indicate that the Arrow Zone persists along a westward shallow plunge for at least 600 metres, and remains open in that direction under Garnet Lake. In particular, the results of the last four holes (GL-2006-21, 22, 23, 24) indicate that this open plunge direction is a mineralized corridor at least 100 metres wide and shows promise for widening down plunge.
The 43-101 Report commissioned in January 2006, will now be finalized incorporating this winter's results. Drilling will recommence on the property in late spring after the completion of borehole geophysical and gyroscopic surveys.
Core samples were split in half using a diamond saw and sealed in secure packages, shipped by bonded carrier from Red Lake to Accurassay Laboratories in Thunder Bay for AU-FA1 assay (gold by fire assay with AA finish) and ICPMA 26 element analysis (multi-acid dissolution and ICP-MS). High analyses (>5,000ppm) for copper, zinc and (>100 ppm) silver were submitted for ore grade analysis. A duplicate unknown to the laboratory was submitted for analyses per batch of ten samples. Standard QA/QC protocols were fulfilled by Accurassay Laboratories . Selected samples will be sent to a second laboratory for In and Ga analysis, and check assays. The Confederation Lake exploration program is under the direction of Trevor Boyd, P.Geo., Geological Consultant, Tribute Minerals, and a qualified person (QP) for the purposes of NI 43-101.
The Company currently has 54,556,910 common shares issued and outstanding.
