TRIBUTE INTERSECTS MORE HIGH GRADE ZINC-3.2 METRES OF 9.1% ZN WITHIN 6 METRES OF 5.19% ZN. ENCOUNTERS MORE THAN 30% OVER LIMIT ZINC
TORONTO, ONTARIO- Tribute Minerals Inc. (the 'Company' or 'Tribute') (TSX VENTURE:TBM) is pleased to announce additional results from its 2006 summer drill program on the Garnet Lake Property, Confederation Lake Belt, Northwestern Ontario. These holes were designed to test the eastern extension of the previously defined "Arrow Zone".
Drill-hole GL-2006-27, collared 25 metres northeast of GL 2006-26 intersected the Arrow Zone 30 metres up-plunge and cut 30 metres of highly altered volcanic rocks hosting variable amounts of iron, zinc and copper sulphides. The best intersection was 4.15 metres (3.2 metres true width) from 304.9 - 309.05 metres down-hole returning a grade of 9.1% Zn, 0.66% Cu, 0.70 g/t Au, 23.8 g/t Ag and 33.2 g/t In with one sample containing over limit greater than 30% Zn which is subject to upward revision with further analysis. This is within a wider sulphide intersection of 7.95 metres (6.0 metres true width) down-hole grading 5.19% Zn, 0.40% Cu, 0.50 g/t Au, 13.6 g/t Ag and 20.0 g/t Indium.
Drill-hole GL-2006-28, collared 30 metres east of GL-2006-27, intersected 31 metres of highly altered volcanic rocks containing mixed iron and base metal sulphides which returned values of up to 3.25 metres (2.5 metres true width) from 290.9 - 294.15 metres down-hole of 4.28% Zn, 0.48% Cu, 0.19 g/t Au, 23.5 g/t Ag and 8.9 g/t In. These results continue to extend the Arrow Zone up-plunge and additional analytical results are pending from completed drilling east of GL-2006-28. The diamond drill has been moved to the north side of Garnet Lake and drilling is now ongoing to test the Arrow Zone down-plunge to the west.
Core samples were split in half using a diamond saw and sealed in secure packages, shipped by bonded carrier from Red Lake to ALS Chemex in Thunder Bay for preparation, and to ALS Chemex in North Vancouver for AU-AA62 assay (gold by fire assay with AA finish) and ME-MS61 47 element analysis (4 acid dissolution and ICP-MS). High analyses (greater than 10,000 ppm, 1%) for copper, zinc and (greater than 100 ppm) silver were submitted for ore grade AA62 analysis (4 acid dissolution with AA finish). A duplicate unknown to the laboratory is submitted for analyses per batch of ten samples. ALS Chemex fulfilled standard QA/QC protocols. The Confederation Lake exploration program is under the direction of Trevor Boyd, P.Geo, Geological Consultant, Tribute, and a qualified person (QP) for the purposes of NI 43-101.
