TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Aug. 9, 2007) - Tribute Minerals Inc. (the 'Company' or 'Tribute') (TSX VENTURE:TBM) is pleased to announce continuing drilling results on its Confederation Lake Belt, Garnet Lake Property located in Northwestern Ontario. Analyses have been completed for holes GL-2007-50, GL-2007-52 and GL-2007-53 on the property.
Holes GL-2007-50 and GL-2007-53 intersected sections of mixed massive, semi-massive and stringer base metal sulphides. GL-2007-50 reported grades of 2.44% Zn, 0.91% Cu, 0.50 g/t Au, 15.1 g/t Ag and 28.2 g/t Indium over 11.1 metres (9.1 metres true width) from 526.5 - 537.6 metres down-hole; and hole GL-2007-53 reported grades of 4.27% Zn, 1.20% Cu, 0.83 g/t Au, 25.42 g/t Ag and 63.4 g/t Indium over 7.05 metres (6.1 metres true width) from 560.35 - 567.4 metres down-hole. These holes tested the Arrow Zone 60 and 90 metres down-dip from GL-2007-49. Holes GL-2007-50 and GL-2007-53 locally widen the Arrow Zone by approximately 40 metres east of previous Hole GL-2004-03.
Hole-2007-52 that tested the Arrow Zone 120 metres down-dip and 40 metres west of GL-2004-03 did not return significant results. Assays remain pending for Hole GL-2007-51 which tested the Arrow Zone up- plunge to the east where it has been defined to date to a vertical depth of 250 metres. The drill has now been moved back to the North side of Garnet Lake where it is presently completing the first of a series of deeper step out holes testing the down-plunge westerly extension of the Arrow Zone. These holes are targeting anomalies outlined by borehole IP high chargeability and low resistivity geophysics from surveys completed in the late spring.
Core samples were split in half using a diamond saw and sealed in secure packages, shipped by bonded carrier from Ear Falls to ALS Chemex in Thunder Bay for preparation, and to ALS Chemex in North Vancouver for AU-AA62 assay (gold by fire assay with AA finish) and ME-MS61 47 element analysis (4 acid dissolution and ICP-MS). High analyses (greater than 10,000 ppm, 1%) for copper, zinc and (greater than 100 ppm) silver were submitted for ore grade AA62 analysis (4 acid dissolution with AA finish). A duplicate unknown to the laboratory is submitted per batch of ten samples. A polymetallic standard, unknown to the laboratories, is included with each submission of samples. ALS Chemex fulfilled standard QA/QC protocols. The Confederation Lake exploration program is under the direction of Trevor Boyd, P.Geo, Geological Consultant, Tribute, and a qualified person (QP) for the purposes of NI 43-101.
