Tribute Minerals Inc. (the 'Company' or 'Tribute') (TSXV:TBM) is pleased to announce that it has secured a second drill for its Confederation Lake properties in Northwestern Ontario. One drill will continue to explore targets on the Garnet Lake Property focusing on testing the western extension of the Arrow Zone while a second drill will be mobilized to the adjacent Copperlode Property contiguous to the southwest boundary of the Garnet Property.
On the Copperlode Property, numerous drill targets have been identified from two previous ground geophysical surveys completed by Quantec Geoscience for Tribute. The targets were generated from interpretation of the results of a Titan-24 deep IP survey completed in 2006, and a previous Titan-24 Tensor Magnetotelluric and DC resistivity and IP survey completed in 2003 over areas covering the believed extension of the favorable horizon that hosts the Arrow Zone. The surveys covered areas located two to three and four to five kilometers, respectively, southwest of the Garnet Property.
The first holes planned for the Copperlode Property are located in the vicinity of the Copperlode Deposits hosting known near surface mineral resources (Copper-Lode E hosting 160,000 tons of 8.28%Zn, 1.02% Cu, 0.39 opt Ag, and Copper-Lode D hosting 36,000 tons of 7.58% Zn, 0.26% Cu reported in Ontario Geological Survey, Report of Activities, 2005) and the deeper Hornet Zone containing previous 1994-95 drill intersections of up to 5.03 metres of 4.07% Zn, 1.13% Cu; and 6.6 metres of 7.58% Zn, 0.08% Cu. The above quoted resource figures are historical, publicly reported estimates, and are not considered to be fully compliant with 43-101 regulations and as such should not be relied upon. The historical estimates are relevant to the property interest held by the Company and are reliable. Tribute has not done the work necessary to verify the classification of the resource.
The drill targets were chosen based upon the re-interpretation of a large IP anomaly identified in the 2003 survey in conjunction with the application of the exploration model developed from Tribute's work on the Garnet Property. The model suggests that the anomaly has not been properly drill tested and the potential exists for joining the above three zones as they are open down plunge to the west.
The Confederation Lake exploration program is under the direction of Trevor Boyd, P.Geo, Geological Consultant, Tribute, and for the purposes of this press release is the qualified person (QP) in accordance with NI 43-101.
